DIPLOMA IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

 The department of mechanical engineering is one of the oldest departments which started during the inception of Shri K J Polytechnic Bharuch in 1961. From its inception, the department has managed to produce efficient and employable mechanical engineers who, not only work as a team leader and member in various reputed organizations but also are successful as an entrepreneur. The highly qualified faculties and availability of variety of resources are some of the positive perks of studying in the department. Keeping in pace with the technological revolution, mechanical engineers have shifted their focus from conventional boundaries and are becoming proficient in new technologies viz nanotechnology, development of composite materials, biomedical applications, and environmental conservation. This has led to an inter disciplinary approach towards engineering problems and its solution.

VISION:
  • To become an excellent department in technical education developing competent diploma mechanical engineers to meet the needs of industry and society.

MISSION

M1: To impart quality education through innovative practices to enhance technical skills in students.

M2: To provide conducive environment through industry interaction, expert lecture and technical workshop to enhance skills of employability, innovation and entrepreneurship in students.

M3: To inculcate soft skills and ethical values in students by organizing events, extra-curricular and Co-curricular activities to adapt to the needs of industry and society.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES(PEOs):

PEO-1: The graduates of diploma in mechanical engineering will engage in application and maintenance of mechanical system.
PEO-2: The graduates of diploma in mechanical engineering will utilize their knowledge in design, manufacturing and quality control of mechanical engineering products.
PEO-3: The graduates of diploma in mechanical engineering will practice a profession which exhibits social, ethical, economical and environmental responsibilities for technological growth.
PEO-4: The graduates of diploma in mechanical engineering will continue lifelong learning through higher education and professional development in engineering field.
